The Place to stay: Courtyard by Marriott Paramaribo

Whether for business or pleasure guests truly enjoy a stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in Paramaribo. The hotel offers just the right balance for everyone. From its luxurious and spacious guest rooms to its outdoor facilities such as a pool and fitness center to its award winning restaurant “Flavors Steak and Grill Bistro”, Courtyard by Marriott is your first choice of stay in Paramaribo
Opened in early 2010 the hotel is the only one in the capital that is located directly on the majestic Suriname River with breathtaking views from its Riverview rooms, and prides itself on its excellent service from its friendly and dedicated associates. The hotel just recently received the Service Excellence Award from TripAdvisor, a statement of excellent service which ensures that guests are not only able to relax but also to stay productive while on business.

The hotel also offers excellent restaurant and outdoor dining options. The talented Executive Chef Randy Smith, born and raised in Barbados, quickly adapted to the large variety of products offered here in the very fertile backyard of Suriname. He chooses his products from local farmers, fisherman and local purveyors and adds a touch of Caribbean, Mediterranean, Indian and Indonesian flavors. His seafood and steak dishes are the highlights of his menu, as well as local dishes such as “Pom” (a deliciously baked chicken pie made from Tayer root) and “Bang Bang”, a local silver snapper grilled and prepared with a mild spicy Creole sauce. The restaurant also prides itself on having the largest selection of wine labels.

Suriname is equally famous for its Amazon fishing and has exactly what fishing fans need: a huge fresh water lake with a plentiful supply of the famous ttoekonarie, known as the Peacock Bass, to be caught. For great family fun for everybody, please inquire about our hotel/fishing packages.

Also, in 2012 the hotel plans to add the first gravel tennis court and an expansion of the pool deck and outdoor restaurant seating.

So whether traveling for business or leisure, Courtyard by Marriott Paramaribo is the ideal place to stay.
